The mission of the event is simple;
Unite organizations that need help with people who can volunteer and give help.
When author Dante Terese started her social media writing journey for Lawrence County, PA on Facebook she promised herself to keep her daily post “The Sidewalk Report” positive and politic free.
Her visits to charitable organizations left a lasting impact because so many were short staffed and in need of more help. Representatives from the groups all said the same thing. Volunteer work had dropped off during the pandemic, and had not returned to pre-pandemic levels leaving them with staffing shortages.
This was the inspiration for her to create the first “Volunteer Fair” for Lawrence County, PA. After learning that most of the area schools require volunteer service, and many retirees in the community want to do something meaningful, she set out to organize the event which will take place at “The Confluence” an event center operated by Cray Youth and Family Services.
Each organization at the Volunteer Fair will have their own table where they can meet the public and press, potential volunteers, accept donations and shine a light on who they are and what they do for the community.
“The research for this event planning was tremendously uplifting and rewarding.” says Dante Terese. “Lawrence County has always been a very generous community that comes together to help each other, it was really awesome to meet these organizations and I look forward to bringing everyone together for the event.
The event titled “The Basket Bonanza & Volunteer Fair” will have a varied group of organizations that serve many different areas of the community.
** Media and Press are invited and welcome to attend the event!
